Storytelling Circles: A story for a story
Last year, Verna and I joked about starting a podcast where we could record all the things we have to say. At the time, it was a dream rooted in humor—because really, who has the time?
But why a podcast, you ask?
As sisters, Verna and I have always connected through conversation. We have shared life as sisters, mothers, and women, navigating all the joys, challenges, and unexpected adventures that come our way. No matter the distance between us—whether it was when I left for college, when she met her soulmate and got married, when we went from being a ten-minute walk apart to a four-hour drive, and now an entire ocean away—we have always found our way back to each other through storytelling.
We talk almost every day.
You might wonder what we could possibly have left to talk about. The truth is, when it comes to storytelling, the content is endless. There is always a new memory to revisit, a lesson to unpack, a moment to celebrate, or something hilarious to laugh about. And let's be honest—there is always something to laugh about.
So here we are, finally bringing that dream to life and creating a space where we can do what we love most: talk story.
This fall, we'll launch our inaugural podcast, Storytelling Circles: A Story for a Story. Each episode will be an invitation into our circle as we share stories, reflections, laughter, and conversations that connect us across the ocean. We'll also welcome guests to join us, bringing their own stories and experiences to the circle.
We invite you to listen in, where every story finds a place in an unending circle—and where two sisters, separated by an ocean, stay connected through storytelling, laughter, and the simple joy of sharing life together.
Now, a small disclaimer: we are novice podcasters and completely inexperienced behind the microphone. But when it comes to storytelling? We're seasoned sisters with a lifetime of practice.
